The Goodyear EfficientGrip is a performance and high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This model has some touring sizes available.

The tire guarantees a safer driving experience in summer weather. The special tire compound and tread design work together to ensure excellent road grip in dry and wet weather. In colder temperatures, however, the tire does not keep its excellent road gripping ability as the tire compound loses its traction in winter conditions. The wide tread grooves prevent hydroplaning situations by eliminating water from below the tire footprint. The more secure drive is ensured with the superb summer weather traction and hydroplaning resistance.

The model is very fuel conscious. The FuelSaving Technology utilizes the lightweight tire compound and the special tire compound to promote a lower rolling resistance. The rolling resistance is the force that determines how much energy the vehicle needs to maintain the tire’s motion. The reduced rolling resistance decreases the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, making it more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly. The tire’s lessened rolling resistance and advanced tire compound also extend the tread life. They work together to slow the tread wear rate down significantly and prevent uneven wear by equally distributing the driving pressure across the tread area. The longer lasting tread life means a cost efficient tire.

The tread pattern offers excellent controllability. It sticks to the road and follows the road surface closely, which improves the steering responsiveness and driving stability. Apart from the tire’s handling, the enhanced road contact also increases the braking capability. The unique tread pattern with the detailed siping create friction at the moment of braking, which guarantees a shortened braking distance. The shortened braking distance provides a safer driving experience in all summer weather.

The EfficientGrip lowers the road pattern noise heard while the tires are in motion. The tread design features a variable pitch tread block sequence. This sequence generates a sound frequency that cancels the road noise out while the tires are in motion by negating the soundwaves. The lower road noise levels promote a quiet and comfortable driving experience.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
