OVERVIEW

The Nexen Winguard Winspike 3 is a touring, winter tire made for passenger vehicles and SUVs. It has some highway terrain, light truck and commercial van sizes as well. It also has some high performance sizes.

The tire guarantees excellent winter traction. The detailed directional tread design, with the wide grooves, siping detail, and wide shoulder blocks, increases the grip in winter conditions, even when performing on ice- and snow-covered surfaces. The tread area is pinned for studs, which further increases winter weather performance. Stronger rubber materials keep the tire pliable, optimizing its performance in freezing temperatures. The wide v-shaped grooves eliminate water and slush from below the footprint and prevent hydroplaning.

The ideal tread design improves the overall controllability and driving stability. This tread design with siping details, wide grooves, and wide shoulder blocks increases the road grip and boosts cornering and maneuvering. On the other hand, this tread pattern is able to keep consistent road contact, which boosts steering responsiveness and driving stability. As a result, the steering becomes faster and more precise to the driver’s commands, while the structure is secured against driving pressure. In other words, the drivers have better control over the vehicle at all times and guarantee a safe driving experience.

The Nexen Winguard Winspike 3 also lengthened its tread life and usability. This tread design and rubber compound protect the tire against irregular and premature wear formations along the tread area. In other words, the tread design evenly distributes driving pressure across the tread, while the compound slows the tread wear rate down. As a result, it increases the tire’s service life.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
